Juan Carlos is an associate professor at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He is keen on applied economic issues related to the process of European integration, especially for the Central and Eastern European countries, in particular on unemployment dynamics and debt. He holds and PhD in Economics from Jaume I University in Spain and an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He has participated in a number of researcher projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness, and he works closely with researchers at the Eesti Pank (Bank of Estonia). He is a member of the committee of the annual conferences in “Economic Challenges in and Enlarged Europe” organized by the Eesti Pank and Tallinn University of Technology.
