The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS), Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) and Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) are seeking research papers for a joint conference to be held on October 20-21, 2014, in Bratislava.

Marta Kahancova presented as an invited speaker in the Thematic Liaison Forum "15 Years of EU Sectoral Social Dialogue – Quo Vadis?", organized by the Euroean Commission, DG EMPL on the Sectoral social dialogue in the New Member States and its implications for the European level.

Martin Kahanec presented as an invited expert at a seminar “Re-Thinking Attractiveness of Labour Migration Policies - Comparative Perspectives on the EU, the USA, Canada and Beyond”.

CELSI continues working on current projects: WICARE (Wageindicator Support for Bargaining in the Social Services Sector), BARSORIS (Bargaining for Social Rights at Sectoral Level) and "New challenges for public services social dialogue: Integrating service user and workforce involvement to support the adaptation of social dialogue".

Martin Kahanec has been appointed as one of the two associate editors of the International Journal of Manpower.

On November 25-26, 2013, Martin Kahanec organizes the 6th IZA/ASE Workshop on EU Enlargement and the Labor Markets at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania.

Martin Kahanec delivered a speech on "EaP workers in EU Labor Markets: Unleashing potentials for mutual gains" based on the results of EU-funded ENPI/EPLM project at the Tenth Meeting of the Eastern Partnership Platform 2.

Martin Kahanec delivered a speech on "Youth Employment in Western Balkans: Any lessons from the EU?" at a high-level Policy Dialogue, co-organised by the World Bank (WB), the Austrian Ministry of Finance (BMF), the Global Development Network (GDN) and the wiiw wiiw, that took place in Vienna on October 21, 2013.

Martin Kahanec co-organized a joint workshop of the IZA Journal of Labor Policy and the IZA Journal of European Labor Studies entitled Labor Market Reforms during the Great Recession: Challenges and Opportunities on October 10-11, 2013, in Brussels.
