Martin Kahanec took part in Slovak Television debate: Europe needs immigrants

Enlarged Europe needs an increased labour mobility. Slovak Television debate „Práca pre teba – magazín“ broadcast on April 4, 2012.
Kahanec argued for increased labor mobility and better mobility governance in an enlarged EU. He elucidated the benefits of immigration for receiving labor markets and warned about the risks currently present in some of the sending countries.
He added that such risks can be contained, but brain gain and brain circulation need to be fostered. He concluded that better management of labor mobility is needed, with a specific focus on brain circulation within the EU and on cooperation with the Eastern Partnership region as an important source of skilled migrants.
