On October 14th, 2024, CELSI senior researcher Barbora Holubová presented the findings of the PERHOUSE project at an event organised by the European Federation for Family Employment & Homecare.

After the welcoming speech by Aude Boisseuil, General Delegate of EFFE, and the presentation of interim findings by Aurélie Decker, Director of EFSI, key takeaways from the structuration and dynamics of Personal and Household Services (PHS) employers’ organisations were discussed.

While Clémence Ledoux, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Nantes, presented the case of France, and Giulia Frosecchi, a researcher at the University of Trento, introduced the case of Italy, CELSI senior researcher Barbara Holubová highlighted the situation in Central and Eastern European Countries, drawing on the results of the PERHOUSE project.

Her presentation examined the opinions and needs of employers in the PHS sector across Central and Eastern Europe, with a focus on their potential to engage in social dialogue.

This event was part of the PHSDialogue project, organised by the European Federation for Family Employment & Homecare, and aimed at enhancing EU-level sectoral social dialogue and collective bargaining capacity within the PHS sector.

Personal and household services remain a crucial but often overlooked aspect of care policies. Strengthening the capacity of social partners to engage in collective bargaining can raise awareness and lead to improved regulations in this vital sector.
