On June 1-2, Marta Kahancova delivered a presentation at the expert workshop aiming to examine national employment policy responses to the financial crisis and its consequences in Europe. The workshop was held at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, Colorado, USA. The project will seek to examine, therefore, what the socio-economic and political impact of the crisis has been regarding the balance of industrial relations power, the existence and nature of shifting coalitions of employers and unions (whether micro or macro) within that changing balance, and the impact, in turn, on reform to both labour market regulation and the welfare state dimensions of employment policy. Experts from the USA, Germany, Ireland, the UK and Italy examine these issues in single-country or comparative papers. Wthin this project, the CELSI research team (Marta Kahancova, Martin Kahanec, Monika Martiskova) examines employment policy responses to the economic crisis in Estonia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
