The workshop, organized by the Confederation of Trade Unions (KOZ SR) from January 14 to 15 in Bratislava, was held as part of the EU project “Mind the GAP! Joint actions of workers’ organizations for bridging the gender pay gap.”

The first parts of the program, led by Silvia Porubänová from the Slovak National Centre for Human Rights and Františka Jakubíková from KOZ SR, focused not only on the state of gender equality in Slovakia but also on the EU Directive on work-life balance.

Among the four lecturers were CELSI researchers Barbora Holubová and Kristína Gotthardová. They discussed gender income disparities, gender-based violence, and presented new related EU directives, along with the responsibilities they impose on Slovakia and the potential for trade unions.

In addition, the CELSI researchers presented the results of a research project on sexual harassment in the workplace and the role of trade unions in preventing and addressing it.
