Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

Nov. 27, 2024

Sexual Harassment is one form of gender-based violence, which can significantly impact one's wellbeing, health, career but also financial security.

Sexual harassment in the workplace is also a form of discrimination, which violates the principles of equal treatment.

Elimination of sexual harassment and other forms of unwanted behaviors and discrimination in the workplace is necessary for safe and inclusive working conditions for all, as sexual harassment affects all genders and especially vulnerable individuals.

Junior Researcher Kristína Gotthardová participated in the Czech National Workshop of the Sexual Harassment in the Workplace project organized by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung in Czech Republic, where she presented Slovak National Report.

She also joined a panel discussion, together with the author of the Czech National Report, Renata Kyzlinkova, and representatives of relevant Czech institutions to discuss the recommended solutions and implications.

Coordination and cooperation of activities on institutional, trade union and employer levels was highlighted as crucial, together with gradual change of organizational cultures, which must be accompanied by strong support of the leadership.
