IncreMe(n)tal: Increasing Metalworkers’ representatives’ Awareness and Skills on Mental Health Protection & Promotion in the Workplace
Mental Health at Work in Manufacturing: IncreMe(n)tal Final Conference
March 4, 2026
On 26 February 2026, the final conference of the IncreMe(n)tal project took place in Brussels and online, marking the conclusion of a two year European research collaboration on mental health at work in manufacturing.
As a project partner responsible for research and training activities in Slovakia, Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) contributed to the project throughout its full duration, including comparative research, stakeholder engagement and capacity building in cooperation with national social partners.
The final conference therefore represented not only a dissemination event, but also the closing point of CELSI’s substantive involvement in this joint European effort.
CELSI Managing Director Marta Kahancová and CELSI researcher Lenka Hanulová participated in the conference, with Lenka Hanulová presenting the Comparative Policy Brief prepared by CELSI in cooperation with former research assistant Iida Nokkala.
The policy brief synthesises cross country findings on psychosocial risks, working conditions and the role of social dialogue in protecting workers’ mental health in manufacturing and metalworking sectors.
It formulates policy recommendations for trade unions and decision makers based on comparative research conducted across Europe.
The conference brought together researchers, social partners and European stakeholders to reflect on the project’s key results, training evaluation findings and broader lessons on mental health at work and collective bargaining.
The event was hosted by industriAll Europe and coordinated by FIM CISL NAZIONALE, with scientific coordination led by Fondazione ADAPT and ADAPT.

The IncreMe(n)tal project examines mental health protection in the metalworking industry across seven countries: Belgium, Ireland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Italy.
The project is funded by the European Commission and in Slovakia is implemented by CELSI in cooperation with OZ KOVO.
