Martin Kahanec talks at IZA/RAND Workshop "Mapping Diasporas in the European Union and the US" in Brussels
Published on June 9, 2014
Martin Kahanec presented as an invited panelist at IZA/RAND Workshop: Mapping Diasporas in the European Union and the United States jointly organized by IZA, RAND and the European Commission in Brussels on June 3, 2014. Kahanec discussed the importance of mobility in the EU facing multiple demographic and economic deficits. He focused on East-West mobility, highlighting the economic potentials of skilled migration from Eastern Partnership countries. He warned, however, that lack of integration and a degree of downgrading into low-skilled jobs obstruct these potentials.
