CELSI COVID-19 Response Team Launched
Published on March 16, 2020
Central European Labor Studies Institute (CELSI) is very concerned about the COVID-19 health crisis and its grave impacts on human lives, societies and economies around the world.
Following up on a CELSI team meeting on March 16, 2020, we have launched CELSI COVID-19 Response Team to provide robust evidence for effective policy response to the COVID-19 crisis.
To this end, CELSI has launched the following initiatives:
- CELSI Expert Roundtable with top representatives of trade unions and employers’ associations, as well as leading epidemiologists, virologists, and labor experts, to facilitate effective response by social partners to the economic and social impacts on workers and employers. The first roundtable was held on March 23, the second will take place on March 31.
- CELSI COVID-19 Response Network of labor experts in Europe and beyond to collect and share data and good practice about their countries’ policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemics.
- CELSI contributes to the COVID-19 WageIndicator Survey on the ‘living and working conditions in the Corona crisis'.
- Policy publications and multiple contributions to the media and expert debates
CELSI continues its regular operations and work on its analytical and policy projects for the European Commission, European Parliament, EEA Grants, WageIndicator Foundation and other clients and partners, while staying at home, helping to stop the virus and protect the lives of the most vulnerable in our society.
