The Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) based in Bratislava, Slovakia, fosters multidisciplinary research about labour markets and institutions, work, employment and organizations, and ethnicity and migration in the economic, social, and political life of modern societies. DATA ANALYST (full-time) .[#analyst]
with an excellent potential for data collection, processing and analysis
<br> *Your duties* + data management for the WageIndicator network worldwide, in particular:
- designing, maintaining and innovating a large-scale web-based survey (similar to a labor force survey)
- data processing – preparation of datasets based on the survey
- data analysis – applied research using the above dataset
- support to clients/researchers worldwide regarding datasets and survey questionnaires
- communication with clients/researchers worldwide regarding datasets and survey questionnaires
- research assistance in international research projects (FP7 and similar)
- analytical support for press releases, media appearances and research reports
*Your profile* - university degree (Master’s or higher) in mathematics, economics, econometrics, or similar (also if expected by September 1, 2012) - advanced user of statistical software SPSS or STATA, or willingness to learn and master SPSS and STATA - computer literacy; MS Excel in particular (previous experience with R, E-Views, MATLAB or Mathematica is an asset) - advanced knowledge of English (English is the working language for all your duties) - interest in labour market issues, and project-based research in the field of labour and labour markets - reliability, flexibility, creativity - motivation to work in a dynamically growing research institute - motivation to interact with clients/researchers worldwide on a daily basis through internet

- We are a progressive, highly motivated team of researchers and data analysts. We offer a stimulating research environment with excellent contacts in our international research networks. The place of employment is Bratislava, Slovakia. The initial employment contract will be for one year. An extension is intended. The open position is also suitable for graduates without work experience, but possessing quantitative analytical skills. Starting date is negotiable, preferably Spring 2012, but no later than September 1, 2012.<br>
ASSISTANT IN WEBSITE CONTENT MANAGEMENT (20 hrs/week) .[#assistant]
*Your duties* - assistance in content management in national websites of WageIndicator member countries (currently over 65 countries), in the Plone Content Management System - uploading and fixing tasks in websites under the supervision of our global SEO (search engine optimization) manager - assistance in SEO, google analytics, google adwords and google adsense - interaction with national WageIndicator teams worldwide on a daily basis via internet - research assistance in international research projects - web support for press releases and media/social media appearances
*Your profile* - university student (Master’s studies) or graduate - web technical skills and/or experience with website content management is an asset - willingness to master the Plone content management system in a short period of time (no programming skills necessary) - experience with google analytics, google adwords and google adsense is an asset - preciseness, reliability, creativity - fair knowledge of English (English is the working language in the international team in which you will be working) - motivation to work in a dynamically growing young research institute - motivation to interact with team members and clients worldwide on a daily basis through internet - interest in media, social media and project-based research - interest in labour market issues (e.g., wage developments)

- experience with academic writing in English (you have written position papers and term papers in English)
- computer literacy, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in particular
*Your duties* + research assistance in one of our current international research projects:
- Employment policy responses to the crisis
- Re-configuration of industrial relations and collective bargaining in CEE countries after the crisis
- Trade union strategies on precarious work in CEE countries
- Labour market mobility within the Visegrad countries (prospective)
- Growing INequalities’ Impacts (FP7)
- Costs and benefits of increased labor mobility in the EU and between the EU and third countries
- assistance in policy relevant projects (preparing press releases, policy briefing papers, research reports)

*Your duties* - assistance in our website content management system (Plone), google analytics, google adwords and google adsense for the WageIndicator project (labour-market related websites for the public in over 65 countries worldwide - assistance in the social media campaign for WageIndicator in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Internships are unpaid and should take place between mid-June and November 2012. The starting date and the number of weekly hours are negotiable. The minimum internship period is 2 months.
