❓ How will the decarbonisation of the power sector affect employment in Slovakia?

What is the job creation potential of renewable energy, and which policies are needed to support high-quality jobs?

🏛️ The Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) is organising an expert event “Decarbonisation of Energy and Employment – Exploring New Linkages”, presenting research results from the DEEPLAB project and opening a discussion on the labour market impacts of the green transition in the energy sector.

📊 The event will present model-based estimates of employment impacts of power sector decarbonisation in Slovakia up to 2050.

🔍 The discussion will focus in particular on:

  • 🌱 job creation potential under different energy decarbonisation pathways
  • 🎓 expected skills and qualification structures of the workforce
  • 🛠️ policies and instruments needed by employers and public institutions

🎯 The aim of the event is to identify steps that can help ensure the creation of attractive and quality jobs in the energy sector.

🤝 The event provides a platform for linking research, policy, and practice in the field of energy transition and employment.

🗣️ The programme will also include a panel discussion with practitioners, featuring:

  • Juraj Hudcovský, Chair, Sectoral Council for Energy, Gas and Electricity
  • Boris Valach, International Cooperation Manager, Slovak Association of Sustainable Energy (SAPI)
  • Milan Kuruc, Vice-President, Energy and Chemical Trade Union (ECHOZ)
