SME Daily: Kahanec in the Leadership of Academia Europaea Among the Major Achievements of Slovak Science

SME Daily has ranked Martin Kahanec’s election to the leadership of Academia Europaea among the significant achievements of Slovak science.

SME reports on major achievements in Slovak science in the last quarter of 2024, including the election of Martin Kahanec to key positions in the European Academy of Sciences – Academia Europaea.

Co-founder and Scientific Director of the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI), Martin Kahanec, was elected last November as Chair of the Section of Social and Related Sciences, appointed Vice President of Academia Europaea, and became a member of its Board of Trustees.

“The institution essentially serves as a pan-European academy of sciences. According to the international repository of economic publications RePEc, Kahanec is the most productive Slovak economist and ranks among the top 9 percent in Europe. His research focuses, among other areas, on economic policy, labor and population economics, and migration,” notes SME.
