Published on Jan. 23, 2025

The News Agency of Slovak Republic (TASR) reports that Slovak professor and economist Martin Kahanec has been appointed to several prestigious positions in the European Academy of Sciences (Academia Europaea).
In November of last year, he was elected, and as of the new year, he holds the roles of Board Member, Chair of the Social and Related Sciences Section, and Vice President of the European Academy of Sciences.
“Being elected to the leadership of Academia Europaea is not only a significant personal commitment for me but also a recognition of the long-term, systematic work carried out by the research teams at the institutions where I work - namely, the Central European Labour Studies Institute, the Faculty of National Economy at the University of Economics in Bratislava, the Central European University in Vienna, and the Slovak Economic Association. I believe this will contribute not only to raising the visibility of Slovak science but also to strengthening its integration into the European academic space,” TASR quotes Martin Kahanec, Director of the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI).
