CELSI Scientific Director Martin Kahanec was a guest on the public affairs programme Kontakty on Rádio Slovensko on Monday, 2 March 2026.

The episode focused on regional differences in work and wages in Slovakia, one of the country’s most persistent socio economic challenges.

Together with Monika Uhlerová, President of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic, Martin discussed structural disparities between regions, their impact on employment opportunities and wage levels, and broader implications for social and economic development.

He also reminded the concept of a Living Wage calculated by the Central European Labour Studies Institute (CELSI) in cooperation with the WageIndicator Foundation.

The discussion was moderated by Eva Sládková and formed part of the regular programme Kontakty, which addresses current public policy issues related to everyday life, including labour markets, social policy and economic development.
