INDEMTRUST: Inequality and Democracy in Europe -Trust, Participation, and Resilience
From the workplace to democracy: INDEMTRUST kicks off in Vienna
Oct. 19, 2026
On 15 and 16 October 2026, researchers from eight European institutions met at Central European University (CEU) in Vienna for the kick-off meeting of INDEMTRUST.
The three-year Horizon Europe project studies how economic inequality, starting with people’s experiences at work, shapes trust, participation and the resilience of democracy in Europe.
Over two days, the partners set out the shared research plan: how the different strands of the project connect, and how to bring its findings to researchers, policymakers and the public.
INDEMTRUST is coordinated by Central European University and led by Martin Kahanec. The consortium also includes Università Politecnica delle Marche, CELSI, Masaryk University, Örebro University, Fraunhofer ISI, the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and Sapienza University of Rome.
Many thanks to CEU for welcoming us in Vienna. We are looking forward to working together over the next three years and to seeing the project’s first results take shape.
INDEMTRUST is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme (grant agreement No 101289817).
